Review: KINGART Radiant Brushes

Being a pro artist and face painter for over 20 years, I've come to appreciate the magic that high-quality brushes bring to my art 🖌️

Yes, it’s true that an artist with great skills can paint with any brush and still get decent results. BUT it’s even more true that painting with high-quality brushes improves your experience so you can focus on being creative.

PLUS, one can never have too many brushes. 🤭 Especially if you’re like me and work with multiple mediums. I use:

  • Face paint for painting on skin

  • Watercolor paints for painting on paper

  • Acrylic paints for painting on canvas (and arts & crafts)

⭐️ I recently partnered with KINGART and tried several of their brush collections for different mediums. KINGART is a powerhouse art supply brand with three generations of experience, dedicated to creating high-quality art supplies, coupled with a commitment to excellent customer service. (😍 I love them so much!!!!)

For Face Painting & painting on skin I fell deeply in love with the KINGART Radiant Collection and I’m here to tell you ALL ABOUT it!

⭐️ To make this review more practical, I’ve listed all my favorite things about them in an easy-to-read list:

BRUSH SHAPES:

The Radiant Brush Collection includes a variety of shapes and sizes for artists of all levels. This is the full list of shapes in this series, and below a short review of the shapes I have actually tried:

  • Round Series ✅

  • Angle Shader Series ✅

  • Shader Series ✅

  • Filbert Series

  • Spotter Series

  • Liner Series

  • Script Liner

🔵 Round Series:

My favorite brush shape is ROUND. I love painting with round brushes because it feels like I’m drawing. I use a #1 - #2 for black outlining and fine details. I use a #1 - #3 for white details & dots. And I use #1 - #8 for all the other colors. Round Radiant brushes come in sizes #10/0 through #14. With all these sizes I can paint from the finest detail lines & tiny accents to thick and juicy line work on bodies or faces.

🔵 Angle Shader Series:

In face painting, angled brushes have become super popular with the introduction of one-strokes or rainbow cakes in recent years. The Radiant Flat brush is AMAZING. It holds a ton of paint and makes the smoothest, cleanest one-strokes & line work ever. this series comes in size: 1”, ¾”, ½”, ⅜”, ¼” & ⅛”

⚫️ Shader Series:

Ok, so I confess that before KINGART sent me these brushes, I didn’t have much experience with shaders. But I started using their size #2 Shader and it has been a ton of fun! I’m going to keep practicing with this one! (Shaders come in sizes #0, #2, #4, #6, #8 and #12)

If you’ve watched any of my arm Tiny Tutorial videos since Summer 2023, then you’ve seen my Radiant Brushes in action.

From their size & weight, to their snap absorption and flexibility, these beautiful brushes have everything I wish for in my face painting brushes.

You can purchase the Radiant Brushes directly on the KINGART website. They are sold individually and in sets.
