🥸 My book update!

I thought illustrating my children's book would be easy for me. I wrote this book 10 years ago and all I have to do now is create the illustrations for each page...but it's been waaaay harder than I thought! 🤓

My plan was to finish the illustrations in a couple of weeks and send it to print. But this is a true story and I want to do it justice. 😅 So even though I prepared, storyboarded, outlined and rough drafted...I still felt artistically unprepared.

When I sat to start drawing, I literally drew a blank! I felt super overwhelmed with self-doubt and I questioned EVERYTHING about my existence. 😓

"I can't draw a children's book! What was I thinking?!"

"What if no one likes my book?"

"Look, a puppy!" (yes, I got distracted a lot too)

The good news is that I got myself together and finally got started! 🥳

So here's the reality, I've only "completed" the first 5 pages of 22. I still have a long way to go because I'm hand drawing each illustration on paper and to do this, I have to make sure all the stars align at home so I can focus.🤪

I just want to be proud of my work when I release it. 🥹

To hold myself accountable, I'm going to start LIVE streaming when I'm illustrating so you can keep me in check. And if you don't see any book updates, I invite you to email me and ask me how it's going. (I always reply to emails, even if it takes me a few days). 🤩
